Hedonism is for pussies. This is Rock & Roll,' proclaims Max Hoffbraugh (Maxamian Nye), the bassist and resident philosopher of the hedonistic rock band in Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll. There's not much weight to the line, nor much thought, if any, in how this movie was slapped together, though it might be redeemed by a couple of good sex scenes as this British band-gone-wild tries to max out the most depraved life style that their tour manager will allow. The beginning montage sets the tone for the movie - loud, raucous rock music on the sound track as a band of four 30-ish (well, Max is a bit older than that, but he never gets any, so maybe he doesn't count) men that make up a mostly British band cavort back stage with their groupies. Girls on pills, guys sniffing coke off their tits, and everyone getting banged in full view gives it the flavor of a drunken frat house party gone bad, but with even less subtlety. The action gets weighed down with a lot of shouting matches between the band members and their manager, Dick Nasty. The arguments are supposed to be funny but end up tiresome. Finally, someone asks, 'what about the girls?' and we remember - ah, yes, that's what we're here for. When the guitarist (Chris Cricket), and drummer (Roger Henchman) are getting blown and fucked by two groupies, (Felicia Fox and Allysin Chaines), the scene bounces back from one couple to the other, the cuts getting quicker and quicker, until by the end of it it's almost like an orgy scene. Good opportunity to lead into a girl-on-girl meeting, but judging from the way Allysin Chaines grimaces with a tightly closed mouth while accepting her unwanted cum-shot, maybe this wasn't in the cards. The next scene is one of the movie's best. The drummer teams up with Selena Silver, his 'West Coast Groupie,' for an intense workover.
