It is vitally important that we learn the history of our community, and that we understand our gay heritage. And if we can do it while watching naked men suck and fuck the hell out of each other, so much the better!For example, in the 50s and 60s gay porn consisted of seemingly innocent 'muscle' magazines that were sold on newsstands. Hell, they were the only thing around!As you looked at the photos, you would jerk off while wondering, 'What happened after they took the picture?'In 1994 we got an answer, thanks to Professor Chi Chi LaRue and Posing Strap, a brilliant history lesson that somehow got lost in high school. Now VCA has released it on DVD. While the extras are rather inconsequential, the movie itself is spectacular.This is an absolute gem of a video. It is one of the best examples of gay porn that combines genuine artistry with serious sex. The cast is wonderful, a mix of veterans and newcomers in all sorts of body types and attitudes. The story by Gender is pitch-perfect, the production values are unsurpassed, the original soundtrack by porn star Chris Green and Peter X is fabulously evocative, and Tab Lloyd provides some of the best editing in any gay sex film.Posing Strap opens in Los Angeles 1994 at an art gallery showing vintage photos.
